Sci-tech Eddy Current Dynamometers Model ELTR 009 Series provides a range of Eddy – Current machines designed for testing engines from 3 to 310 BHP. Eddy current dynamometers are well known for their stability and suitability to operate in a closed loop mode. These provide Precise Control even at low loads and rapid changes in demands and provide Bidirectional operation. The rugged design of the power absorbing unit ensures a long operating life, even in the most demanding production and endurance testing environments. The rotor which is in form of a Spoke Disc results in low inertia. The balanced high rigidity shaft assembly on precision bearings ensures smooth operation. This long life is further enhanced by the nickel plating of critical components in contact with the water. ELTR 009 Series Dynamometers feature a rugged design & heavy-duty Single coil / High quality aluminum bobbin. This ensures high reliability. Speed is measured by a pulse sensor mounted adjacent to a 60-tooth wheel on the coupling while torque is measured by a high accuracy strain gauge load cell mounted between the trunnion bearings, supported casings and bedplate. Control is achieved by varying the excitation current to the coils when used in conjunction with feedback signals for torque from the load cell and speed sensor closed loop can be provided. Control Monitoring instrumentation for controlling the tests & monitoring the test data. Numerous options are available such as drive shafts, guards, calibration systems, engine mounting frames, circulation pumps and cooling towers.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION: Basic Unit Study of performance of internal combustion engines & its calculation is important feature of this trainer. System is having unique feature of calculating all efficiency of internal combustion engine including heat balance sheet. The Engine & Dynamometer is mounted on base structure.  Sci-tech has design the system in such faction that easily operate; demonstrated & requisite experimentation can be performed. System has facility of measuring Engine brake load, speed, consumption of air, consumption of fuel, temperature at different locations, mass flow of water.

Computerization Unit

System is having unique feature of direct reading & automatic calculating all efficiency & heat balance sheet of internal combustion engine. The online graphical representation of important parameter is displayed on screen to see effect of change in load or speed. Final result & graph are in built available in software. System has facility of measuring Engine brake load, speed, consumption of air, consumption of fuel, temperature at different locations, mass flow of water.   P- q / P-V Arrangement Console: System is having unique feature of direct Engine Dynamic Pressure & Engine crank angle  or Engine Volume (V) can be measured & plot on computer screen. It gives online representation of Engine Dynamic Pressure & Engine crank angle  to study effect of change in load & speed. For correct sensing of Pressure, quartz type transducer from PCB USA or same quality is used. System is having unique feature of direct control of Engine load or speed from keyboard & mouse. This system is having automatic operation controller & actuator. This can control parameter online of engine operation.

  Universal Engine Mounting Test – Beds  These are available in 4 models to suit mounting of engines from single cylinder to 8/10-cylinder engines. Models available are T1, T2, T3 & T4 respectively These beds enable using the same dynamometer for a variety of Engines and mounts, as it is acts as a Floating Foundation which can be adjusted to match the engine / prime-mover center with that of dynamometer shaft.
