Heat Transfer in Natural Convection Model TH 005
Sci-tech Heat Transfer in Natural Convection Apparatus Model TH 005 consists of a vertical brass pipe heated by a cartridge heater inside it.
The Pipe looses heat to atmosphere by natural convection. Pipe is fitted in an enclosure to provide undisturbed natural convection currents. Thermocouples are attached on the pipe to measure local temperatures. Heater
input is measured by voltmeter and ammeter and can be varied by dimmer stat.

– Digital Voltmeter: 0 – 199.9 Volts.
– Digital Ammeter: 0 – 1.999 Amp.
– Multi – channel Digital Temperature Indicator.

– Necessary switches & Fuses
- Pipe - Brass, 38 mm dia.(OD), 500 mm long fitted with cartridges type heater.
- Thermocouples fitted along the length of pipe.
- Enclosure with Perspex window to house the pipe.
Service Required -
- 220V/230V/240V.A.C. stabilized supply with proper earth termination.
- Floor space - 1 m X 1.5m at working height.
