It is composed of:
● Steering wheel
● Rack
● Pinion
The unit is carefully sectioned as to clearly show all the internal parts. All sectioned areas are painted and color coded to allow for easy identification of parts. Steering gear operation can be demonstrated by using the hand wheel to turn the mechanism.
Hence, it is possible to see clearly how the pinion engages the rack and causes it to move when the steering wheel is rotated. The shaft on which the rack is machined has two spherical couplings at its end and these are in turn connected to the steering arms. The unit is supplied on an elegant wooden base.
