The various trainers are structured so that they can be tailor-made for different training levels by selecting the desired trainers as well as the electrical parts, components and connection accessories.

- The circuit is tested to make sure that there are no ‘real’ faults.
- The instructor simulates the desired fault by operating the related switch on the back of the proper module.
- The students analyze the failure and once found the cause, report their conclusion to the instructor.
- If the students have correctly identified the cause, the instructor can reset the switch to prove the correctness of the analysis.
