MULTI-STAGE CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR DEMONSTRATION APPARATUS Model FM 99

Sci-tech Multi-stage Centrifugal Compressor Demonstration Apparatus Model FM 099 allows the students to measure the operation characteristics of a multistage centrifugal compressor. For that purpose, the unit carries out the actual measurements of the compressor’s inlet flow, the speed and power of the compressor, the differential pressure to know the pressure increment in the compressor, and the temperature at the air inlet and outlet. There are two transparent ducts with butterfly valves at the inlet and outlet of the multistage compressor to regulate the inlet and outlet flows. Besides, the unit includes a variable speed drive to change the compressor speed from the computer. Optionally Computer Controlled Unit can be supplied with the Sci-CalR Computer Control System (SCADA) and includes: The unit itself + a Control Interface Box + a Data Acquisition Board + Computer Control, Data Acquisition and Data Management Software Packages, for controlling the process and all parameters involved in the process.  The well-structured instructional material sets out the fundamentals and provides a step-by-step guide through the experiments.

Fans are mechanical instruments that allow moving great gas flows as a result of the generated pressure increase. The aim of compressors is similar to that of fans; compressors move a lower amount of flux, but they have a much higher-pressure increase. In centrifugal compressors the fluid’s displacement is essentially radial. They are used in industry for applications of site compression. They form the dynamic compression machines group, in which the fluid is accelerated at a high speed and the kinetic energy is transformed into pressure.

Sci-tech Multi-stage Centrifugal Compressor Demonstration Apparatus Model FM 099 allows the students to measure the operation characteristics of a multistage centrifugal compressor. Multiple-stage compressors are used in industry for high pressure suction or supply of gas flows. The kinetic energy given to the gas by the impeller rotation is converted into pressure energy, which progressively increases from one stage to another.
