AXIAL & CENTRIFUGAL FLOW FAN DEMONSTRATION UNIT Model FM 86

Sci-tech Axial & Centrifugal Flow Fan Demonstration Model FM 86 is a self-contained bench top unit designed to demonstrate the working of axial & Centrifugal flow fan and to conduct experiments to study the performance of a typical axial flow fan. It consists of a duct in which a single stage axial flow fan& centrifugal fan rotates and sucks air at one end of the duct and delivering air at the other end. A major portion of the ducting is transparent and permits visual observation of the working of the fan and the measurement system. The fans are driven by a variable speed motor. The differential pressure across the fans are measured using the electronic transducer. The air flow rate through the fan can be varied using the adjustable aperture device and flow rate is measured using an orifice plate. Temperature of air at inlet and the rotational speed of the impeller are measured. Control panel with the digital display of measured parameters is provided. Computer based data acquisition and processing system with software is provided.

Size: 80cm x 50cm x 50cm (LxWxH)
Weight: 25 kg

Item Description

Axial flow fan is a device in which air flows in the axial direction and energy transfer takes place from the rotating rotor to the surrounding fluid. The rotor consists of blades and the kinetic energy of air is increased by the momentum transfer during the passage of air through the blades. Axial flow fans are used in several applications involving higher flow rates and lower delivery pressures, such as air conditioning, air circulation, aircraft engines and power plants and cooling. Study of the characteristics of axial flow fans is an important topic in turbo-machinery.

The Sci-tech Axial & Centrifugal Flow Fan Demonstration Model FM 86 is an important equipment for fluid-machinery or turbo-machinery laboratories of mechanical, aeronautical, chemical and propulsion engineering departments of educational institutions.
